Luke Robson has worked in facilities and operations management in cultural and heritage buildings across South Yorkshire, including Cutlers’ Hall, The Showroom and Barnsley Civic Arts Centre. Originally from Newcastle, Luke has lived in Sheffield for over 14 years, having passed Canada House many times on the tram he is excited to see the building come to life.

His professional work has largely focused on people in buildings, whether that be as audiences, conference delegates, or even wedding guests. As part of this Luke has experience ensuring health and safety and statutory compliance for buildings ensuring mandatory services are completed. He has brought these skills to the Harmony Works Project, conducting regular building inspections, working with external contractors keeping the site safe, secure, and compliant prior to the building work starting.

Luke is passionate about music education participating in his school wind band, playing 2nd trombone for Newcastle City Jazz Ensemble and having supported Barnsley Music Service whilst working at the Civic. At university Luke’s passion for theatre grew and both his under and post graduate dissertations looked at theatre architecture, focusing on audiences in the building.  Luke likes to keep busy and in his spare time he is an active part of Sheffield’s magic community. He has performed magic at public events across the country, internationally at New York’s longest running magic show and also at the world-famous Magic Circle where he is also a member.
