Jan Bonar

Jan is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in senior financial leadership roles in the charity sector, specifically the arts and heritage sectors. She is currently Finance Director of Sinfonia Smith Square, a music charity which runs a Grade I Listed Concert Hall in Westminster, London, and its resident orchestra of young professional musicians. She has also been a Trustee of Sheffield chamber music charity Music in the Round for nearly 7 years, now serving as Vice-Chair.

A keen musician herself, Jan holds a Master of Music degree from the University of London, and is a keen and experienced choral singer, currently as a member of the choir at St John’s Ranmoor and the Sheffield Bach Choir. In younger days, Jan frequently ‘trod the boards’ as a member of the Grosvenor Light Opera Company in London, taking several lead soprano roles.

Jan is thrilled to have been appointed to the Board of Harmony Works Trust to be able to play a role in delivering this iconic development for music education in the city which has now been her home for nearly 8 years.
