Mike is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience, working across audit practice, listed manufacturing, telecoms, technology and wholesale distribution, before moving into the charity sector in 2023. He is now Finance Director at BookTrust, the UK’s largest children’s reading charity, where he is a member of the  Executive Leadership Team and also heads Fundraising and HR.

He studied English at the University of Sheffield and has lived in the city ever since, now with his partner and their two children.

As a keen musician who played in bands in his teens,  and spent years Djing around Sheffield, he knows first hand the difference a musical education makes to a young person. He is proud to be part of a project that will put that within reach of thousands of children, in a building in the middle of his own city.
