Sheffield Music Hub Teacher Wins National Award

Sheffield Music Hub Teacher Wins National Award

Sheffield Music Hub Percussion and Samba teacher Dan Johnson was awarded Instrumental/ Vocal Teacher of the Year at the 2023 Music & Drama Education Awards.

On 23 February, Dan was recognised for his commitment to inclusion and excellence, making Sheffield the home of the best music educator in the country! As a music leader, Dan has the opportunity to plan projects in partnership with learning providers all over the city. In 2016 one such project, a collaboration with Sheffield Children’s University, saw nearly three hundred primary school children playing in an enormous Samba band outside the Crucible Theatre.

Sheffield Music Hub said: “We’re very proud of Dan and all our samba students and this is a real accolade for the Hub and our City.”
