Magical concerts will introduce the first Sheffield babies to an ambitious new musical hub this month.
Concerteenies for Babies is heading to Harmony Works, on Commercial Street, for one day of live music on Saturday 27th June.
The event takes place before the historic Grade II listed building Canada House closes for major refurbishment later in the year.
In 2028, the transformed space will become Harmony Works, a new home for music education and performance and a vibrant cultural and community hub for all.
CEO Polly Ives, who will also perform on cello and voice at the babies’ concerts, said: “We’re so excited to perform our first concerts inside our future home, Harmony Works.
“This project is a huge step forward for Sheffield’s music and cultural landscape, and the whole team is proud to be part of it.
“Demand for our unique babies’ concerts there in June has surpassed our expectations, and the first performance sold out within days of announcement.
“These will be the first ever babies to see inside Harmony Works and experience live music there.”
Concerteenies for Babies events promote bonding, relaxation, communication, active listening and wellbeing.
There are still tickets available for the second babies concert, which takes place from 11.45am.
Other musicians performing include Luke Carver Goss on accordion, guitar and didgeridoo and djembe/handpan player Trevor Waldron. There will also be instruments, bubbles, scarves and interactive fun to explore.
When complete, Harmony Works will be the home of inspirational music education, a musical home for young people, and part of the regeneration of Castlegate.
Tickets for Concerteenies for Babies cost £12 for adults and 0-2s attend for free.
Adult tickets must be booked to secure entry.
